Super Bowl Vince Lombardi Trophy

Originally known as the "World Championship Trophy," and first awarded in 1967, it was renamed in 1970 to honor Vince Lombardi, who coached the Green Bay Packers to the first two "super bowl" wins.

In 2011, Super Bowl "45" was played on February 6. A 30-second commercial cost $3 million. In 1967, that 30-second spot cost advertisers $42 thousand.

What an amazing part of American society this game has become. The 2011 Super Bowl winner, for the fourth time, is the Green Bay Packers.
