NY Giants 2011 Home Opener vs St Louis Rams

About the most interesting this about this home-opener is that it is on ESPN's Monday Night Football. From MetLife Stadium.  (A new name for the old New Meadowlands.)

QB Eli Manning

Eli Manning will be showing us whether he has what it takes to bring back a little of the fleeting glory to the Giants.  I think the jury is still out on whether Eli will EVER be a top 5 quarterback, but I think the fans have pretty much have decided that he will not be pushing his older brother down on the list.  Peyton may be out of action, but Eli can't match Peyton's STAR appeal.

Both teams are dealing with injuries, already, and won't be at full strength.  Frankly, I'm thinking that this game will take a back seat to Dancing With the STARS tonight.

Oh yeah, the NFL fined Atlanta Cornerback Dunta Robinson $40 thousand for his helmut-leading hit on Eagles' Jeremy Maclin.  No suspension.  I guess a suspension would hurt the entire team, and that's not needed.  What is needed is sending Robinson a strong message.  This is his second offense.  I think he launched himself at Maclin.  If it happens again, I say, suspend for the remainder of the season.  The coach needs to step in here, as do the rest of the players.
